About me
I am a professional freelance translator/interpreter based in Poland. My native language is Polish. I also worked as an EFL and PFL teacher.
I use a Windows PC, broadband Internet connection, scanner, printer and fax. I work with the following CAT tools: TRADOS, SDLX, PASSOLO, WORDFAST, IDIOM, MEMOQ.
When working on Polish>English projects, I cooperate with native speaker proofreaders. I also consult specialists in relevant fields to provide high quality specialist translations.
Education and Qualifications
I graduated from English philology (MA) and Polish studies (postgraduate) at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. I majored in English literature and TEFL. I wrote my MA thesis about the poetry of nonsense and humour studies. I have attended a number of courses to develop my translation and interpretation skills, e.g. Translator's Workshop; Poetry in Translation (the Jagiellonian University); Financial Reports (Corporate Services, Cracow); CAT workshops (the Translation Studies Center, Sosnowiec); Sworn Translations (Katedra UNESCO, Cracow); Interpreting: consecutive, simultaneous, liaison, a'vista; and a course in legal-medical specialist translation and interpreting (the TSC). I also completed postgraduate studies in Audiovisual Translation at Tischner European University in Cracow (subtitling, dubbing, marketing, transcreation, games).Experience
